Vessels calling Maldivian port should send ETA message 12 hours in advance. Vessels approaching Male’ Commercial Harbour should contact Harbour Control on VHF Channel 10 two hours before arrival at Pilot Boarding Ground.

Notice of Readiness: Vessels should report to Maldives Ports Limited as soon as they receive inward clearance from Customs, Immigration and Port Health.

Agency: All appointed Agents must be approved by the Maldives Ports Limited, Ministry of Trade and Industries and Maldives Customs Service.

Pilotage 
Pilot is compulsory for all vessels above 120 GT engaged in foreign trade in all the movements.

Hours of service: 0600 hours to 2300 hours for arrival vessels
24 hours for departure vessels.

Anchorage 
Safe anchorage with good holding ground. Vessels discharging and loading cargo at Male’ are requested to anchor inside the working anchorage.

Reporting Vessel Shifting: 
Prior to moving a vessel within the port of Male, The Maser of the vessel should report such event or intention to Harbour Control giving the following:
a) Name of the vessel
b) Present Location.
After shifting is completed, shifted location and the time should be reported to Harbour Control.
